Introduction
— This Privacy Policy explains how RivalFit collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile app and related services. RivalFit is a competitive fitness platform where you log workouts, runs, and nutrition, earn XP, and compete on leaderboards. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. Who This Policy Covers
— This policy applies to people who use the RivalFit mobile app. Trainers and gym operators who use the web portal, and visitors to our website, are also covered where relevant. If you connect with a trainer through the app, some information is shared with them as described below. Information You Provide
— When you create an account, we collect your email and the profile details you enter, including your name, photo if you add one, bio, city, state, and date of birth. Your date of birth is required and is used to confirm you are old enough to use RivalFit and to determine eligibility for the Golden Division. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive basic profile information from that provider to set up your account. Health and Fitness Information
— RivalFit is a fitness app, so you can log health and fitness information, including workouts, sets, personal records, runs, calories and macros, water intake, steps, fasting, body weight, weight goals, and progress photos. You choose what to log. We use this information to provide the app’s features, calculate your XP, and show your progress. You can delete individual entries and your progress photos at any time. Location Information
— If you use the runner log, we collect location and GPS data while you track a run so we can map your route and show distance, pace, and splits. Background tracking works while the screen is off during an active run. We also use the city and state from your profile to place you in your state league and to filter leaderboards. You can control location permissions in your device settings. Social, Content, and Messaging Information
— RivalFit includes a social feed and competitive features. We collect the content you post, such as workout clips, comments, likes, saves, follows, and the badges and rankings you earn. If you have a Pro subscription and a trainer, we collect the messages you exchange with your trainer through the app. Content you post publicly, and profile details you make public, can be seen by other users. Payment and Subscription Information
— RivalFit subscriptions and Marketplace purchases are processed by our payment provider, Stripe, through a web-based checkout, not through in-app purchase. We do not collect or store your full card details. We receive limited transaction information needed to confirm your subscription status, apply platform fees, pay trainers, and manage refunds. Your subscription status is verified in the app through our systems. Information Collected Automatically
— When you use the app, we automatically collect standard technical and usage data, such as device type, operating system, app version, app activity, and general diagnostics. This helps us operate, secure, and improve the app. How We Use Your Information
— We use your information to create and run your account, provide the app’s features, calculate XP and update leaderboards and Prestige progression, run leagues and challenges, enable the social feed and trainer messaging, process subscriptions and Marketplace purchases, send notifications, provide support, keep the platform safe, and meet legal obligations. Notifications
— With your permission, we send push and in-app notifications about league updates, personal records, rival activity, streaks, macro reminders, challenges, trainer messages, and account activity. You can manage notification permissions in the app settings and on your device. How We Share Information
— We share information with service providers who help us run the platform, including cloud hosting, our payment provider Stripe, mapping and location services, analytics, and notification tools. If you connect with a trainer, relevant activity and messages are shared with that trainer. We may share information to comply with the law, enforce our terms, protect people’s safety and rights, or in connection with a business transfer. We do not sell your personal information. Your Choices and Controls
— You control much of what RivalFit collects. You can edit your profile, choose public or private mode, manage notification and location permissions, delete posts and progress photos, and delete your account. To stop location collection, turn off the permission or avoid using the runner log. To stop trainer messaging, end the trainer connection. Your Privacy Rights
— Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to limit certain uses. Because RivalFit handles health and fitness information, we treat that information with extra care and in line with applicable data protection laws, including GDPR and CCPA where they apply. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We do not sell your personal information. Data Retention
— We keep your information while your account is active and as long as needed to provide the app and meet legal, tax, and recordkeeping obligations. Some records, such as transaction history, may be kept longer where required. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it. Account and Data Deletion
— You can delete your account at any time from the app settings or by contacting us. When you delete your account, we remove your profile and personal information, including your logged data and progress photos, except for information we must keep for legal, tax, safety, or dispute reasons. Data Security
— We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, and payments are handled by our payment provider. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Children’s Privacy
— RivalFit is intended for adults aged 18 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has created an account, please contact us and we will take appropriate action. International Users
— RivalFit may process and store information in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. By using the app, you understand your information may be transferred to countries with different data protection laws, and we take steps to protect it as described here. Changes to This Policy
— We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version in the app or on our website and update the effective date below. Continued use of RivalFit after changes take effect means you accept the update. Contact Us
